The Chameleon Series is designed to measure the absolute spectral power of the light under test. Adding optical probes and absolute calibration turns this type of measurement system into a Spectroradiometer.
The Unique Optical Design
The Chameleon Spectroradiometer is designed with the ability to slide-in N.D. filters between the optical light path. The Chameleon is a low cost system with a wide dynamic range.
It is an ideal tool for process control or QA colour measurements in industrial applications. Common applications are analysis of LEDs and glass bulb lighting. It can also be used in photometric applications for light emitters.

Measuring LED parameters presents particular challenges for metrology equipment. For example CIE compliant adapters for measuring luminance intensity and flux can have a low light efficiency. The Chameleon system uses a directly coupled light throughput lens unit that ensures the overall system sensitivity even for low light level LED measurement.
This optical system can measure a wide range of LEDs from small SMT designs to high power LEDs. The proven Chameleon has built in colorimetric and radiometric capability, which are compatible with CIE 127 - 2007 and NIST traceable.
The Chameleon software package is a complete solution for LED colour analysis and offers measurements according to the CIE standards. Using the CIE software is very easy; its functions are clearly structured in four main steps:
